Accompanied by her deputy S Harish, members of the Palike’s major works standing committee, Sharadamma inspected the progress of the work. The underpass is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore.
She asked the engineers to finish at least a portion of the underpass by July-end working day and night.
Meanwhile, the standing committee on establishment and administrative reforms, during an inspection at Sampangiramanagar, found that out of the 27 sanitary workers, only 13 had showed up for duty on Monday morning. Among those present, none were in uniform. There were no senior health inspectors, junior health inspectors and environment engineers present to monitor the work.
In Sudhamanagar, they found the mustering centre locked.
