Study material for 1,200 students today

Block Education Officer K S Nagarja Gowda said at a press meet here on Friday that 5,000 notebooks will be given to students of government schools at a cost of Rs 1.6 lakh.

Children of teacher couple who have secured more than 85 per cent marks in SSLC examination will be felicitated on the occasion. M Udayakumar of Sahyadri College, Janata High School head master Gopalareddy, Beglibenajenahalli headmistress Manjula and Koragondahalli school headmaster S Narayanaswamy have donated for the cause.

Contractor Muniraju has donated sports materials worth Rs 45,000, Kallandur Krishnegowda has donated 175 chairs worth Rs 54,000, retired high school teacher L Krishnappa has donated ‘Kannada Ratnakosha’ to 450 students and School Development and Management Committee president Narayanaswamy has donated wall clocks worth Rs 17,000.

Felicitation

The BEO said that three teachers who retired recently and five teachers transferred from the cluster will be felicitated on the occasion.

Cluster resource persons R Veeranna Gowda, C M Narayanaswamy, resource persons G Srinivas, M Srinivas and others were present at the press meet.
