'Implement RTE Act as per guidelines'

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Padi Mangalore Director Renny D’Souza said the recommendations made in RTE Act should be stringently introduced to carry out the measures to aid transparency in the education process. He said district-level awareness programmes should be held to publicise the measures of RTE Act across the State.

The Act makes DDPI and BEOs responsible for implementing the provisions of the Act. Assessment of quality of education should be taken up as the routine measure, he added.
He said action should be taken against the violation of the Act as per the provisions. SC, ST and OBC communities should be given proper representation in the schools.

The DEd syllabus should be revised. The teaching and evaluation process should be under the guidelines of KCF pattern, he added.
