Residents allege that funds were released last year for providing basic amenities to the wards, after they staged a road obstruction protest, but had been misused.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, funds were released by the Chief Minister for the developments of roads and drainages under the special town development scheme. The residents have alleged that the contractors have used substandard material for the work. The drainage work has been put on hold.
The samiti has demanded that the Muncipal Council pay attention to the issue.
