On Friday, a section of devotees led by Sri Rama Sene leader Sanjay gathered in front of the temple, demanding the trust not to deprive the devotees from worshipping the deity, for personal reasons.

Learning about the gathering and fearing that it could turn into a rabble, K R Police who rushed to the spot succeeded in taking the parties to the station, arranging for talks again.

However, the inspector of K R police station B S Srinivas has already sent a report to the office of tahsildar seeking his intervention.

The temple has been locked up owing to the fight over ownership that has erupted between the priest S N Pandit and his sister-in-law Saraswathamma (wife of Pandit’s elder brother Krishnaswamy).

Pandit left for home after locking the temple on Saturday (June 17) only to find another lock, the following day. Pandit and Krishnaswamy were the priests of the temple for years together. Pandit continued with the rituals after Krishnaswamy passed away 20 years ago.
