Charkha awards for journalists

Rajashekhar Koti of ‘Andolana’ newspaper in Mysore has been chosen for the Mentor Award for Encouragement to Development Journalism, instituted by the Communication for Development and Learning for Excellence in Development Journalism in Kannada.

Dr T R Chandrsekhara’s report, “Vyavasaya Vyathe Abhivridhiya Kathe” and Dr Leela Sampige’s write-up on “HIV/AIDS” won them the award.  Sharada Gopal’s “Stree Sabalikarnadatta Mattondu Hejje” got her the award in the wo­men’s category, and Prajavani staff reporter Manjushree M Kadakola’s report on sanitation won her the recognition. They will be felicitated on July 1.
