Gayle ignored again, Edwards comes in for Nash in WI squad

Last Updated 26 June 2011, 05:54 IST

Barbados batsman Edwards' inclusion is the only change effected by West Indies selectors in the team which lost the first Test at Sabina Park by 63 runs on Thursday.
Nash made 1 and 9 runs from the two innings of this match.

Meanwhile, West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) officials and the rebellious Gayle, along with the West Indian Player Association (WIPA) members held a meeting here last night.
The West Indies team was represented by manager Ritchie Richardson and coach Ottis Gibson.

After the meeting, the two sides went their way and there appeared no sign of rapprochement and Gayle continued to be ignored for criticising the WICB some weeks back.

Significantly, WIPA chief Dinananath Ramnarine was conspicuous by his absence. WICB has already declared they wouldn't have anything to do with him as they claimed he "used abusive language and was threatening" to WICB CEO Ernest Hilaire in an earlier meeting.
West Indies squad: Darren Sammy (c), Adrian Barath, Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Marlon Samuels, Carlton Baugh (wk), Fidel Edwards, Ravi Rampaul, Devendra Bishoo, Kemar Roach, Kirk Edwards.
