The personnel was operating illegally when the Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) in-charge of verifying the property tax forms was absent.
He was caught red-handed when the BBMP Standing Committee on Personnel and Administrative Reforms went on a surprise inspection, following complaints from the taxpayers.
The committee also noticed that the documents pertaining to property tax, census details etc, were dumped in a godown.
The committee after the inspection recommended immediate suspension of the employee and action against those responsible for the mess.
They also recommended removal of the office manager who reported for duty at 2 pm.
