Gun training must for every citizen, says DC

He was addressing the valedictory of a 10-day training programme for public in using guns at Ramanahalli police parade ground on Sunday.

The DC who received guard of honour from the trained public advised them to use weapons within the legal framework.

City Municipal Council H D Thammaiah appreciated the police department for conducting such a training programme. “The experience of using weapons is necessary. But they should never be misused,” he said. He released the pamphlets published by the police department.

District Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj said people should use weapons only when there was threat to their life and property. “They should not be used for hunting which is a crime,” he said.

It has been decided to train 30 youth in the city for the responsibility of traffic wardens, he said. The SP distributed certificated to the trained public.

Additional SP Mutturaya, trainer C H Lokesh, coffee grower Munir Ahmed spoke. Circle Inspector Basavaraj delivered an introductory address.
