Gita campaign to be extended to SHGs: Minister

Participating at the valedictory of Bhagavad Gita campaign at Vokkaligara Kalyana Mantap in Chikkaballapur on Wednesday, the minister said the Gita is quintessential to lead a good life.

“Studying Gita will help mould one’s life, as it teaches good values. Gita is not only the prominent religious book but it belongs to our country and culture. There is nothing wrong in learning such a book. Everyone must study the Gita,” he added.  The State government will not hesitate to implement good works. Bhagvad Gita campaigning, Gomatha Rakshane and setting up of Cultural University are some of them, he added.  

Sonda Swarnavalli mutt seer Gangadharendra Saraswathi swami said “Learning Gita is very necessary to clean up the society that is mired in corruption and injustice.”  The campaign has received good response in Bellary and Hubli, he added. On the occasion, primary and secondary school students were taught Gita shlokas by seers.

Sharadashrama’s Shivakanthananda swami of Ponnampet, Guru Basava swami of Pandumatti, Deputy Director of Public Instruction C U Chandrashekhar and others were present.
