India have qualified for Group ‘A’ of the basketball championship, to be held in Wuhan, China from September 15-25. India will face Lebanon, Korea, and Malaysia in their group.
Koroth scored 12 points for India while Vishesh Bhriguvanshi contributed with 11 points. Amjyot Singh, Trideep Rai and Amrit Pal Singh scored 10 points each.

For Sri Lanka, Praneeth was top scorer with 17 points. India dominated the proceedings right from the word go as they allowed Sri Lanka to score just two points in the first quarter as they raced off to a 25-2 lead.

India shot a very high percentage from the field -- 60 percent overall -- to overwhelm Sri Lanka. By halftime, the score was an already 51-11, and India cruised for the rest of the game. The ball-movement for India on the offensive end was a major factor and the points were shared amongst several players as all 12 got on the score-sheet.

In an earlier game, Nepal defeated Bangladesh 73-62 in the ‘Hard Line’ match-up to come third in the qualifiers.

After a close first quarter, Nepal improved their defense to take a nine point lead at halftime, and Bangladesh were too far behind to make a comeback after that point.
