Employees want implementation of Sixth Pay Commission

Last Updated 16 July 2011, 16:05 IST

The agitators took out a protest demonstration from the Hemavathi statue here to the deputy commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through the DC.

They said the move of the government to form a special committee to implement the recommendations of the pay commission by nine months was not proper.

They urged the government to reduce the time frame to six months as the prices of all essential commodities have shot up. The protestors urged the pay commission to recommend a payment of 25 per cent interim relief with the present salary.

The government should not privatise government services but should recruit for vacant posts directly, it should also revert to the old system of pension scheme for retired employees, they urged.
