Nataka Academy awards announced

Well-known theatre personality B S Keshav Rao has been selected for the annual honourary award. The award consists of Rs10,000 and a citation.

Donation

K Hirannaiah’s fans on his 70th birthday donated Rs 1 lakh to the academy. The  Cultural comedian K Hirannaiah award is given to anyone excelling in comedy, consisting of a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a citation.

Phakeerappa Varavi of Bagalkot has bagged the award for this year.

The book ‘Jeevana Rangadhare’ by Virupaksha Naik has bagged the annual award for a book on theatre.
