Anganwadi workers seek fulfilment of demands

Their main demand was to reinstate suspended anganwadi assistant from Shahapur and quality food grains to be supplied to the centres.

The anganwadi worker from Shahapur who has served for 19 years was suspended as she failed to attend the service on account of health problems. She should be taken back to service and works should be provided with special sick leave, they demanded.

Sub-standard food grains are supplied to the centre as a result of which children are deprived of nutritious food, they alleged and urged the food department to take measures to supply quality food items.

The department is following delay tactics towards the works in distribution of Bhagyalakshmi Bond. Encouraging measures should be taken up, they demanded.
A memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Director of the department, Bhaskar, on the occasion.
