The gang held for raping, robbing and murdering 32-year-old teacher Kumuda in Basavanapura Government School, was a terror for lonely women, particularly teachers, waiting at bus stations in Bidadi and surrounding areas.
During interrogation, Narasimha, Manjunath, Ravish and Ravi had revealed that they had robbed two more teachers when they had asked for a lift near Kunigal and Channapatna. However, they had not lodged complaint with the police. The members had not admitted to having raped them.
The officer pointed out that women seek lift in an attempt to reach their work place on time, without realising the dangers involved in it.
