Students oppose shifting of college

Last Updated 05 August 2009, 18:11 IST

Lack of site should not be considered as a reason enough to transfer the college. Thus, decrying the Education Department’s order more than 500 vedike activists took out a protest rally on the main streets of the city.

The protesters urged the  CMC and the Urban Development Authority to immediately y allocate the land required by the college. A greater majority of the students studying in the first grade college are those from the rural areas. Also, a majority of the students hail from dalit, oppressed and the minority communities. Thus, shifting of the college would only amount to greater inconvenience to the students and thereby affecting their future, urged Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Zilla President Rajagopala Gowda.
