Forum to hold year-long cultural programme

He was speaking after inaugurating the cultural committee of Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA), Kuncha Kavya Samskruthika Samithi at the college premises. An art  can cast a  spell and happiness around a community and society.

It is important that people should be told about the benefits of art.
An artiste has a major role to play to mould opinion through his works, he said.

An artist can bring create an awareness in the society on the need to protect environment, forests and wildlife through his art and other social subjects. There is no boundaries for imagination of a an artist. The art should become a face of society, he added.

M G Sadanandaiah, deputy director of publication division of JSS Mahavidyapeetha expressed concern that the city was losing its old-charm due to influence of globalisation and urbanisation.

The artists should introspect and try to inculcate human values in their paintings, he said.
Dean B A Deshpande, secretary Sridhar and others were present.
