Work towards integrated development, says DC

Speaking at the janasamparka programme organised jointly by the district administration and the police department at Kigga Abhinava Ramananda High School in Sringeri on Tuesday, he said the district administration will respond to the demands of constructing road, providing electricity connection and supplying drinking water.

Gram Panchayat Vice-President H K Naveenkumar Markal said most of the roads in the gram panchayat limits are in deplorable condition. The villagers are facing hardship owing to the deplorable condition of the road. There is a need to provide priority to the road connectivity.

He said transport facility to Sirimane waterfalls and Kigga temple should be introduced as large number of tourists visit the temple regularly. A mobile tower must be constructed at Kigga and electricity connections must be given to houses at Tharollikodige, Talavanthikodige and other villages in the taluk.

The villagers who participated in the meeting said all the government sponsored programmes must be implemented effectively. The title deeds must be given to those tribes who are residing inside the Kudremukh National Park from time immemorial. The rehabilitation facilities must be given to those who were displaced from the forest. The arecanut farmers are suffering from yellow leaf disease affecting the crop. The villages must be provided with road, drinking water, hanging bridge and electricity connection.

Zilla Panchayat Vice-President M S Ranganath said solar lamps are provided to those villages where electricity is a distant dream. Title deeds will be distributed to the beneficiaries under Form number 50 and 53. Delay in the constitution of akrama sakrama committee has slowed the progress of issuing title deeds. Superintendent of Police Vikaskumar, Zilla Panchayat member B Shivashankar, ZP Chief Secretary Range Gowda, Taluk Panchayat President Arun Kumar, Vice-President K H Noothankumar, Assistant Commissioner Dayanand, Forest Officer Manjunath Chowhan and others were present.
