Katta moves HC seeking bail

Katta, who is presently lodged in the Parappana Agrahara central prison under judicial custody along with his son and Itasca Managing Director S V Srinivas, has moved the High Court.

The trio have also moved a memo on Tuesday along with the bail plea seeking early hearing of the matter. However, the court rejected the memo for early hearing and said it would take it up hearing on regular basis.

The accused have challenged the special court order which rejected their bail petition, on the grounds that they had been cooperating the investigation from the day one the case was registered. Further, they pleaded that they had always attended the inquiry whenever they were asked to report before the investigation authority.

“We never attempted or remained absconding, and the special court has failed to consider several aspects which rejected the bail, sending to judicial custody,” states the bail petition.
The matter is expected to come up for hearing on Wednesday.
