Speaking to reporters after offering ‘bagina’ to Tunga river here on Tuesday, he said MLAs C P Yogeshwar and Varthur Prakash are likely to get ministerial berths this time. New chairmen would be appointed for all board and corporations. “Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda has already formed a 21-member ministry and is likely expand his ministry within a week”, he said.

Replying to a query whether Sagar MLA Belur Gopalakrishna would get ministerial berth, he said the matter needs to be discussed in the party meeting.

Berth pressure

Reacting to the ‘urulu seve’ (rolling ritual) performed by followers of Gopalakrishna seeking ministerial berth on the premises of temple in the city, he said: “Let them float in the river or fly in the sky. The party would take disciplinary action against those who try to put pressure by staging protest or in any other way for ministerial berth.”

On the deputy chief minister’s post, he said the question of creating deputy chief minister post doesn’t arise as not a single State government-led by BJP in the country has such a post. Replying to a query, he said Reddy brothers were left out from the ministry as they have been indicted by the Lokayukta for illegal mining.  Defending the inclusion of V Somanna in the Cabinet, he said Somanna has not been indicted by Lokayukta, only his son’s name has been mentioned in the report.
