Award for best idea against corruption

Last Updated 18 August 2011, 19:24 IST

The ideas will be shortlisted through a public voting system and the top 10 popular ideas will then be assessed by a jury. The winning idea will be presented the Satyameva Jayate award.

The deadline for submitting the ideas is September 20, and the winning idea will be announced on October 2.

Announcing the initiative, Programme Co-ordinator of ipaidabribe.com T R Raghunandan, said the idea to institute these awards was to consciously involve citizens to help them make a difference. “Each of us needs to come forward and suggest the changes that can rid the system of corruption,” he said.

‘Everyone right and wrong’

On Anna Hazare’s detention, Raghunandan, a former IAS officer, said everybody is right and wrong. “Team Anna is right in wanting a strong Lokpal bill. Yet, politicians, however despicable they might be, are right too. We have a parliament and the draft bill is now before our elected representatives,” he said.
