Wanted: Royal butler for British Queen!

Yes, the Queen has advertised for the trainee butler to join her staff at Buckingham Palace, looking after her as well as other members of the Royal Family. The advertisement appears on the Royal website.

The successful applicant will be based at Buckingham Palace but must also be willing to spend at least three months of the year at other Royal residences, including Balmoral in Scotland and Sandrigham in Norfolk.

According to the advertisement, applicants for the role must possess a friendly, polite and approachable disposition with the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality, 'The Daily Telegraph' reported.

The advertisement also explains that the Queen is looking for an "enthusiastic and dedicated individual, currently working within the catering and hospitality sector but looking for a new challenge".

It goes on: "This unique and professional role provides development and career progression opportunities for those willing to work at a number of Royal residences in the UK, where you will carry out a wide range of responsibilities from messenger and valeting duties to food and beverage service."

The role is described as including the "collection and delivery of tea/coffee trays breakfast trays and newspapers for Royal and Household purposes in an efficient and discreet manner."

The successful applicant will also be responsible for the "valeting of guests and members of the Royal Household invited to stay with the Royal Family ensuring that clothes and uniforms are cared for to the highest standards".
