14 killed in bus accident near Tiruchirapalli

A tourist bus was bound for Thiruvananthapuram from Puducherry and a town bus was plying on the Chellapatti- Kovilaptti-Manaparai route when the mishap occurred, they said, adding that the drivers of both vehicles and the conductor of the town bus were among those killed.

Of the injured, nine have been brought to the General Hospital here for treatment while the others have been shifted to hospitals in Madurai and Manaparai.

All the 14 bodies have been identified. 13 of those killed were the town bus passengers, the police said.
