Appointment of new MD for KMF quashed

Hearing a petition by Ramalingegowda, who had moved the High Court challenging the appointment, Justice Anand Byra Reddy quashed the appointment and directed to continue the petitioner as KMF’s MD.

The petitioner had contended that the appointment was invalid as Ramalingegowda  was still the managing director of the federation. As he was facing several allegations of misappropriation of funds and irregularities, the State government appointed Premnath to the post.

The petitioner was suspended following allegations of irregularities. However, status quo was ordered on the suspension following a writ petition in the High Court.

The petitioner had submitted that there is no provision under Co-operative Act to create additional post of MD when he still holds the post.

Terming the appointment as illegal, the petitioner had sought quashing of the appointment.
