Life can actually be fun

This is a phase everyone goes through in life - presuming to be misunderstood by the whole world, making themselves deliberately dysfunctional, the works.

It is when that ‘thing’ called love is mixed that life gets interesting. Pawan’s take on this phase is refreshingly different to say the least. Without resorting to dramatics, he brings out the ‘pathos’ in the hero very well, while also infusing positivity in continuous little doses. There might be some who argue about the improper handling of some situations, but Pawan’s script neatly mirrors a section of society, warts and all.

For a debutant, Pawan does well. He treads the middle path, not leaning on dialogue for succour. His visual aesthetics make a brief appearance in the songs, which sometimes pop out of the blue, but that takes nothing away from Sugnaan’s work. Mano Murthy’s music gracefully takes a backseat, with the visuals doing all the talking.
In fact, there may be a bone to pick with Sanath and Suresh for chopping off some ‘unnecessary’ scenes – the screenplay for once revelling in its irreverent attitude towards everything.

Among the girls, Sindhu Lokanath and Samyukta (obviously) show potential - another intelligent move by the director.

For all the positives, the screenplay meanders towards the climax, like a tyre leaking air slowly, very slowly.

The portion between Satish and Digant towards the end appears to be a justification of sorts, a quiet rebellion by the director against convention.

But when there’s instant connect with the target audience - the 20 somethings - do niceties matter anymore?
