Fashion gurus Manoviraj Khosla and Namrata G, actresses Priyanka Upendra and Sanjjanaa, and model Irfan Shaik made up the celebrity quotient at the Grand Finale.

They judged the nine teams on their creative rounds for the ‘I Gen-Y’ theme. They were very impressed by the fantastic creations and amazing talent that the teams showed off. This is what each of them had to say.

Manoviraj Khosla, fashion designer: “It has been quite a surprise to see the colleges do so well and they have made quite an effort. I would give more credit to those who have actually taken an effort to make the clothes. Everyone got the ‘I Gen-Y’ theme right and it was good to see that each team had a different interpretation. There was no repetition as they all chose different looks. How they chose the different looks shows their unique perception of such a theme and the effort they have put into it is really good.”

Priyanka Upendra, actress: “I am very happy to see so much of innovation and creation by the college students. Some of them were really very good and they stood out with their work. The girls of Mount Carmel College were very good and they looked really professional and walked well too. I was very happy to see the different interpretations of the theme. The colleges all showed unique looks – the ‘Go green’ team had a powerful message. Some stuck to emotions and feelings while others showcased great style.”

Namrata G, fashion designer: “The students have shown great value in their collections. Each team expressed itself differently. I saw a lot of creativity, expression and exploration through their interpretations of the theme. Some of them had spiritual messages while some had social. It shows that they are serious and aware of the perils around them. They want to talk about this through their collections. Our youth are savvy, ambitious and they will be more wealthy than us in the future. But for all this, they need to be grounded and have the values instilled in them. These youth have brought back those values and expressed themselves in so many ways. I thought they were fantastic.”
Irfan Shaik, model: “The teams have shown great creativity and talent. It is really good to see the effort they have put in. Their different looks and styles shows how creative they are and how they take to the theme. They brought a very good message for the audience today.’
Sanjjanaa, actress: “There is a lot of freshness, rawness and effort in the teams. I would have never been able to do this in my college years. All the colleges have done very well and I am very impressed by the hard work they put in for this.”
