State to host international film festival, says CM

Speaking at the Udaya Film awards at Palace Grounds on Sunday, he said: “We will host an international film festival in the State by the end of the year. For this, nearly Rs five crore has been sanctioned by the Government”, he said.

The chief minister also added that the number of films that have received subsidy has increased from 50 last year to 75.

The Government has also helped to produce four feature films this year, he added.

“Kannada cinema has an important place both nationally and internationally, and the State government will do everything to support it,” he said.

He also announced that the State government has commissioned memorials for both Dr Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan. 

Home Minister R Ashoka and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara were present on the occasion.
