With less than a month to go for the Naada Habba dasara festivities, police commissioner K Sunil Agarwal on Monday convened a meeting of the private security agencies to brief them about the need to keep high alert during the nine-day celebrations.

As the police chalk out a separate strategy for the security in the palace and in the important tourist destinations, the meeting with the private security agencies sought to address the security issues related to hotels and other key installations in city.

Eagle’s eye

Agarwal briefed the heads of the security agencies on do’s and dont’s and keeping an eagle’s eye on people who check in and check out of hotels and lodges. Representatives from more than 15 agencies were present in the meeting.

Briefing reporters, police chief said that recent blast in New Delhi calls for a high vigilance for the upcoming dasara festival.

Protecting people’s lives and public property has become a big challenge.
“Though, police will be on high alert, the private agencies and citizens should also cooperate with the department. The private security agencies have been alerted,” Agarwal added.

On flipside, he said the department intends to train the police officials for the security arrangements ahead of dasara. Senior police officers from Bangalore will impart training,” he stated.

DCP (law and order) Basavaraj Malagatti and DCP (crime and traffic) Rajendra Prasad were present.
