Regional Passport Officer K J Srinivasa said: “Several people have asked us about these rumours and there has also been a rush of applications from people who have been told that they should get their passports before the hike in fee. We have no intentions of hiking the fee.”
Meanwhile, the Passport Office has urged applicants to register themselves at passportindia.gov.in to obtain appointments to submit their applications.
Appointments can be obtained from Sunday to Thursday for the subsequent Monday to Friday.
Applicants with medical, educational and employment urgencies have been requested to approach the Regional Passport Office at Koramangala directly, to get the appointments.
