Doctors have confirmed that Jyothi (29), admitted at S S Hospital in the city died of dengue fever and not due to swine flu. She was in the ICU for the past five days and had breathing complaints. She was residing in Bangalore and had returned to her native place. Doctors suspected her to be infected with swine flu and the samples were sent to Bangalore for investigation, DHO Dr Shivanna Reddy told Deccan Herald on Tuesday.

Dean of S S Hospital, Balakanteerava Saraswati said that false information has been provided to the media on swine flu. In fact, dengue has become widespread in the district with 75 cases detected in a span of one month. “This has not been noticed by any one,” he said.
