JOIN USAddressing a media conference here on Thursday, mahila Dasara sub-committee president Chikkamma Basavaraju said the programme would be inaugurated by women and child welfare minister C C Patil at 12 noon on September 30.
Rangoli contest would be held on the inaugural day of the programme in front of Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple. At 12.45 pm, women self-help groups would exhibit their products at the Platinum Jubilee Hall at J K Grounds.
Vegetable carving
A fruit and vegetable carving is also being held. A cultural programme by tribal women and ‘Ummathat’ dance by Kodava women would also be held on the same day.
On the evening of September 30,a dance ballet on the social evils plaguing the society would be held at 6 pm. Tibetan women from Bylakuppe are also expected to showcase a traditional dance.
On October 1, ‘Kolata’ by anganwadi workers, Yakshagana by Udupi Mahila Yakshagana troupe and on October 2, a hairstyling contest is also being organised.
Zilla panchayat CEO G Sathyavathi, Dasara sub-committee vice-president Gurumallamma and Mariyamma were present.
