The unpredictable rains in Bangalore during the evenings haven’t stopped the P3Ps from attending a host of events being held in the City. Besides, if the events consist of wines, food and art, it gives the party-goers all the less reason to miss them. So what if they cost a bomb? This was the case last week at a restaurant, where royal wines and fine dining awaited all the socialites. In addition to that, there were some interesting paintings on display by Lokesh Kalinga. The series called Mannequin attracted the attention of many socialites.
“I wanted to do something different,” explained the artist, about his series. “We see mannequins in shops and they are so stiff. I just wanted to give life to them.” The paintings provided quite a treat to the eye as many of the guests spoke about their love for art and questioned the artist on this series. The oil on paper series was simple, with the use of minimal colours. However, it had some intricate work portraying the different poses of a mannequin, which like the artist said was “full of life”. The series costing between Rs 3,000 and 15,000 seemed to have some takers.
Chef Paolo, who was one of the key persons behind the food and beverages for the entire evening was extremely happy to see an excellent response. “We are serving local wine with a three course dinner,” he said. Speaking extensively on the food being served, he named a few dishes like Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian Quiche, Asparagus and Mushrooms, Salad with Caramelised Apple including many rice dishes. Post a presentation on the art of wine tasting was a lavish dinner for the socialites as the Chef had promised. All in all, it was a fun-filled evening coupled with great food and liquor, which surely kicked the mid-week blues of the P3Ps away.
