One more tests positive in Mangalore

Speaking to Deccan Herald, District Surveillance Officer Dr Rajesh said the patient had come to Mangalore on the first week of August from Malaysia. “She is the second year student of KMC. We had sent throat swab samples of six suspected cases to KMC, Manipal, three days ago. Five have been tested negative. Till Tuesday, the district had 26 suspected swine flu cases. Four more suspected swine flu cases have been reported in Mangalore on Wednesday,” he informed.

3 suspected cases

As many as 3 suspected H1N1 patients are waiting for the results of their swab samples in Manipal. Shalini (26), a newly suspected case, is from Bangalore.

She came to Manipal to attend a job interview. She complained fever three days ago and slowly developed cough and respiratory problems following which she was admitted to KMC.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, DHO M R Naik said that the results of the swab tests of the three suspected cases are yet to be known. Shehnaj Begum from Kinnimulki was admitted to KMC on Tuesday night suspecting influenza, he said.
