“The Government should immediately release Karnataka Rakshana Vedike’s State President T Narayana Gowda and other pro-Kannada leaders by August 14. Otherwise the Vedike would not allow the Independence Day celebrations in the taluk,” expressed KRV’s Malur Unit President S Prakash.

The members of the KRV members staged a protest in Malur on Wednesday and held Orulu seva from Marikamba circle to tahsildar office.

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, the members alleged that the CM was involved in vindictive politics and was targeting pro-Kannada organisations for personal gains.

The members threatened that they would observe a black day on August 15 and would stop politicians and officials from attending the independence day celebrations if their leader and others were not released by 14.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike district President Rajagopal Gowda, General Secretary Meedahal Raghavendra, TP Secretary S M Raju, CMC Commissioner Prassanna Kumar, Vice-President Rafiq, Women Unit’s President Ananthlakshmi, Student Unit’s Naveen Kumar, leaders A Ashwanth Reddy, Chennakrishna, Chakanahalli Nagaraj and others were present on the occasion.
