Unbeatable enthusiasm on stage

The fest comprised of various events that went on for two days.  The first day saw the song and dance events while the second day saw the fashion show ‘Styletize’ and the performance of the college band.

Abhishek Kumar, co-convener of Panorama, one of the organising clubs said, “We started working on this more than a month ago and all the clubs have come together to work on this. As many as 20 colleges from  the City have participated in the event. The students are very enthusiastic about the singing and dancing events and we are so happy to see their enthusiasm.”

Colleges like Christ University, Jain College, IFIM, Welingkar, SIBM and IIIT-B, among others, took part in the festival. The first event  was Indi Geet which had two sections — Indian solo and duet while the second segment ‘Electic’ had western solo and duet performances.

Both the categories had numerous enthusiastic participants who sang songs in Hindi and Tamil as well as Carnatic numbers. They were cheered on by the audience. The judge for this segment of the fest was renowned Carnatic singer Ashok.

This was followed by ‘Danza Paso’ the group dance competition. Students from different colleges danced to various peppy tunes.  Bollywood, Western, folk, and contemporary dances got the audience tapping their feet.

There was something for everyone. The judge for this section of the fest was John Anthony, CEO of Lord’s Rhythm Academy. Students from Christ University bagged the first prize while the second spot was tied between another team from Christ University and SIMC. The second day of the fest saw the fashion show ‘Styletize’.

The theme for the fashion show was ‘Flauntasia – Flaunt your style’. The participants showed their interpretations and choices in creativity and style. SIMC won the first prize while Jain College came second. All the winners were awarded gift vouchers.

Priyanka Dhelia, a second year student said, “This is a dream event for SIMC and a platform to showcase the talent of other colleges. We believe the world is a stage and we are all part of it as actors and this event is the ‘stage’ to unleash the real you.” The students were vey happy with the success of the show and  looking forward to being a part of it again.
