Take part in 'E-pitch,' win prizes worth `1.5 lakh

The event is a national-level business plan competition held in partnership with the N S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) of the IIM-B. It is sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and INTEL.

E-Pitch is aimed at creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs so that they grow their business ideas and nurture them with expert guidance and mentorship. It aims at providing a head start to student entrepreneurs. The finalists will bag a direct entry to Next Big Idea (www.nextbigidea.in), a business plan contest organised by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), and to participate in international contests such as the UC Berkeley Global Entrepreneurship Challenge. The top 10 teams will be mentored for the next round by NSRCEL.

E-Pitch consists of two rounds such as ‘Submission of executive summary’ which would include a brief description of the idea and the technology backing it. It should be a maximum of 500 words in PDF Format, to be submitted at e-pitch@engineer.org.in by October 2.
 
The second round will be ‘Presentation of Business Plan’. Ten teams will be short listed on the basis of their executive summary, and they will also be allotted mentors from IIMB, NEN and NSEF. The teams will be notified well in advance and will be expected to make a complete business plan. They will also have to present the same, in front of the judging panel during ‘Engineer 2011’ to be held on October 27.

Students from any stream can participate and need to have a valid ID card of their institute. Prizes worth Rs 1,50,000 await the winners of E-Pitch 2011.Any college student can participate in E-Pitch by submitting a brief summary of his or her idea to e-pitch@engineer.org.in by October 2.
