The chargesheet was filed before special judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal. The police said that the probe is not yet complete as it is still waiting for the permission from Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar to prosecute sitting BJP MP Ashok Argal, co-accused in the case.

“We are still continuing to trace the money trail and the source through which it came,” said the chargesheet. Argal was one of the three BJP MPs who had waved wads of currency notes in the Lok Sabha during a trust vote in July 2008 caused by the withdrawal of Left support to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government over the India-US civil nuclear deal.

The other two - Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora - are no longer MPs and are in jail in the case, as is former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who is a member of the Rajya Sabha.
