Gang of dacoits held

It was planning to loot a milk van from Bangalore

DH photoThe police said that all the accused were below 25 years and  were residents of Arasikere in Hassan and were working as drivers in a call centre company in Bangalore.

Police said that the accused had gathered information about a milk van belong to Mukunda Dairy which supplied milk to Malur, Kolar and Mulbagal and plied via Malur, Kolar to reach Mulbagal.

The accused also knew that the supervisor in the van carried Rs 1.5 lakh from the milk supply and returned to Bangalore through Malur Industrial area.

According they had reached Tirumala brick factory on Malur-Hosur road in a vehicle to waylaid the milk van, the police said.

However they ran out of luck as a night patrol police caught them on suspicion.

Circle Inspector Sampath Kumar, Sub-Inspector Salim C Nadaf, K Shivashankar and other police personnel were part of the operation.
