Praveen Kumar alias Thimarayappa (27) and Manjula (24), married seven years ago, had two children. Praveen was working as a tailor for a garment company and allegedly got close to another woman. Manjula's father had gifted her the house where the couple were living. Praveen was forcing her to sell it. On the ill-fated day, in a fit of rage, Praveen assaulted stabbed her on the neck and tucked her in a water drum, the police said.
Neighbours who heard the cries knocked at the door. Praveen’s friend Subramani peeped through the window and got wind of the situation. He bolted the door from outside and alerted the police.
