Hearing on steps taken to tackle H1N1

The Adalat bench comprising of Justice K L Manjunath and Member Yellappa Reddy sought to know the preventive steps have been taken up by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The bench sought to know that considering the outbreak of the influenza, dengue and chikungunya, whether the BBMP had called for a meeting of the officials.

Bharath Lal Meena, Commissioner, BBMP said that the Chief Secretary had conducted a review meeting in connection with H1N1 and a control room has been set up in the BBMp office. He also said that a press briefing is also conducted every evening and 35 hospitals are equipped with testing facilities. He also said that experts are also working with preventive measures of Chikungunya and Dengue.

The bench said that an awareness programme should be created for the common man regarding the disease and said that it is the responsible of all the authorities concerned in this regard.
