A CBI counsel submitted before a Mumbai special court Thursday that the case involved Manisha Mhase, the lawyer daughter of retired High Court judge S.B. Mhase, whom CBI's anti-corruption unit booked Wednesday.

The case centres around a complaint filed before Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Mumbai, headed by the retired judge, seeking a compensation of Rs.95 lakh for breach of contract from a Pune builder Mahalaxmi Developers.

According to the first information report to the CBI Oct 7, the complainant was assured by a lawyer named Sunil Shirole that the case would be settled in his favour if he agreed to pay a percentage of the settlement.

Shirole is said to have introduced Manisha, a practising lawyer in Aurangabad, to the complainant

The CBI counsel told the court that following a trap laid, Manisha’s assistants were arrested accepting bribe of Rs.30 lakh Monday, while Manisha was arrested Wednesday.
