Divisional Railway Manager, Akhil Agrawal, who unfurled the tricolour highlighted the achievements of the railways specifically the Bangalore division.
He said that Bangalore division has ferried 69.7 million passengers during 2008-09 compared to 63.8 million passengers the previous year. Several schools, Railway Protection Force, Bharat Scouts and Guides participated in the parade.
