Five arrested on murder charge

According to the police, Ameenabi, the grandmother of the accused, suddenly died when the accused picked a quarrel with her and beat her up over a domestic affair on Saturday night near her house.

Ameenabi’s son Iliyas has married two women and the accused are the sons of his first wife. Iliyas had married another woman after parting ways with his first wife and settled down in Saudi. A case has been registered against him in this regard.

Iliyas had come to Bangalore three days ago. The accused decided to hand him over to the police. They went to his house and picked up a quarrel. In a fit of anger, they allegedly beat up Ameenabi, who collapsed and died on the spot, added the police. The police arrested the accused following a complaint by Iliyas’ second wife.

Company money
The Hennur police arrested a cash collection executive of a company and three of his associates for robbing the company’s money and recovered Rs 6.5 lakh from them.
They are - the prime accused, Jagadish (22), a resident of Bhadrappa Layout, Rajesh of Nandini Layout, Sudarshan of S R Nagar and Mahantesh of Sanjaynagar.

According to the police, Jagadish lured his associates to join him in robbing the company’s money. Jagadish would collect cash from owners of mobile stores and other stores and hand it over to his higher-ups everyday.

On Saturday, he lodged a complaint with the police stating that three unidentified persons had robbed him of Rs 9 lakh and fled on Nehru Road. He had said that they threw chilli powder into his eyes and escaped with the money. The police grew suspicious and interrogated him. During interrogation, Jagadish admitted to the crime.

Student killed
An aeronautical engineering student was killed on the spot, while his friend sustained severe injuries near Cable Bridge on G M Road, on early Sunday morning. 

The deceased has been identified as Rahul (25) from Assam, while the injured Suraj Singh (25) is battling for life at a private hospital. 

Rahul was a student at Hindustan Aviation Academy, Marathalli. Singh is a BBM student at East Point College. They were returning home on a bike when the accident occurred.
