The taluk requires 38 MW of power every day while the present supply is only 8 MW, putting the farmers and the public at large to hardship. “I had met the Bescom chairman in view of this problem and he has assured to look into the matter,” the MLA said in a press statement.

The government had promised to supply three phase power for seven hours and singe phase power for seven hours per day. However, it has reneged on its promise and consequently, farmers of this region are facing problem. “Being a farmer, I have first hand knowledge of the problems being faced by agrarian community. I have appraised the Bescom chairman of the difficulties of farmers of this region, who are dependent on groundwater,” he has said. He has also warned of launching a stir in case there is no improvement in the power supply scenario in the next two days.

JD(S) leaders K V Nagaraj, K T Narayanaswamy and K R Reddy were part of the delegation that met the chairman.
