Along with another two thousand students, Pooja was granted her graduation
certificate in a grand graduation ceremony held at Dayananda Sagar Institutions recently.

“Now, I am pursuing my MTech. I had a great time with my friends during my graduation here. I will never forget those wonderful days. I am so excited as I am being declared an engineering graduate by one of the prestigious institutions in the City,” says Pooja B.

Almost every student, who was there to accept his or her degree, was of the same
opinion.

Dressed in graduation gowns, the students had dreams in their eyes as they waited for their name to be called.

The day began with students registering their names and then participating in the rehearsals for the ceremony. Having successfully crossed one of the milestones of their lives, they were all set to walk out of the campus as proud alumni.

“Today, a photography session was allowed after we got our graduation gowns. We clicked as many pictures as possible with our friends and family. We also congratulated our friends who have won ranks at the university level,” says Aneesha, another
graduating student who is currently working in Infosys.

“After passing out, we had lost touch with many of our friends. Today, I met all of them and exchanged our work experiences,” she adds.

The celebrations began with a march from the administrative block to the Football Grounds, which was the venue of the programme with the army band leading the way.

Pigeons and balloons were released to mark the start of the event.

Later, students were administered graduation oath and gold medals were given out to the rank holders.

“I am really thankful to my college for having arranged such a grand ceremony for us. I am also happy that my parents could see me receiving the certificate.

This institution nurtured my dreams and helped me get a good job through its excellent placement programme. I cannot express my happiness through words,” says Abhilash, a management graduate.

Dr Shridhar Mitta of Next Wealth Limited gave the graduation address. A firework display was also held to mark the celebrations in the end.
