BJP workers stage protest march

The march, which started from Gandhi Bhavan, waded through M G Road, Doddapet Road, KSRTC bus stand and M B Road before converging at the the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

Slogans raised
The protesters raised slogans against the Union Government and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh all along, blaming them for failing to curb the unprecedented raise in the price of essential commodities.

The protesters later staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. They said that the United Progressive Alliance government at the centre is solely liable for sky-rocketing prices of the food grains.

The  protestersd alleged that the entire country is reeling under drought and fodder has become scarce for the livestock. Farmers are in distress. The distribution of ration under Public Distribution System too is not proper as a result of which poor are reeling under hunger,” they alleged.

The party workers warned of launching a stir if the Union government failed to take measures for easing the life of the common man, in the coming days.
President of the district unit, Sriram, Jagadeeshwarachari, Pramila, Mallikarjuna and others took part in the protest.

Traffic blocked
Condemning the anti-people policies of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government in the Centre, the activists of the BJP District Unit led a protest on Monday in Chikkaballapur.

Though it has been  100 days since the United Progressive Alliance government has come to power there has not been much development, the price of essential commodities has hit all time high, the purchasing power of the common man and the poorer section of the society has been brutally crushed, the protesters accused.

Moreover, the Central government has brutally failed in formulating a foreign policy, thereby the country’s sovereignty is under threat, they accused.

The protesters staged a rasta roko on National Highway 7 and took out procession in all the main streets of Chikkaballapur.

 Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to shirastedhar .
