The protesters alleged that legislative council deputy speaker Puttanna instigated the JD(S) workers to attack the BJP leaders.
The JD(S) leaders have lodged false complaints against the BJP leaders with an intention to postpone the elections, the protesters charged and requested the citizens to teach a befitting lesson to the JD(S).
They urged police to arrest those who attacked the BJP leaders.
Subramanya Naidu, MP PC Mohan and MLAs Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and B N Vijay Kumar led the protest.
