Carnatic classical

Nidhi Ravishankar, a student of Vidushi Shobha Kukke, will be presenting a Carnatic classical music concert on November 5, 3 pm at Kannada Bhavan, J C Road as part of the monthly Chiguru programme organised by the Kannada and Culture Department. 

Soulful music

M A Narasimhachar Music Foundation is organising the 10th annual music festival till November 13 at Bangalore Gayana Samaj Hall. The concert will start at 6 pm everyday. Entry is free.

Rock fest

‘Rebirthing — The Anti Addiction Rock Fest’ will be held on November 5, 5 pm at Mount Carmel College Auditorium. The rock show will feature bands such as ‘Prodigal Return’, ‘Transit Point’, ‘Final Surrender’, ‘DwhetsTone’, ‘Incarnadine’, ‘Legacy’, ‘Willy and The Poor Boys’, ‘Clown With A Frown’ and ‘Adam’s Apple’.

Romantic comedy

‘Orgasm’, a romantic comedy in English, will be staged by Cult Entertainment at Alliance Française. It will be held on November 5 at 4 pm and 7.30 pm and on November 6, 4 pm and 7.30 pm.

‘Dance Installation’

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan will present ‘Dance Installation: Synchronous Objects – Degrees of Unison’ from November 5 to 8. The inauguration is on November 5, 7 pm and will have a lecture by Norah Zuniga Shaw. ‘Dance Installation: Synchronous Objects – Degrees of Unison’  is an interactive screen-based work developed by William Forsythe, Maria Palazzi, and Norah Zuniga Shaw. Workshop

The International School of Film and Media (ISFM) is holding a seminar on November 5,11 am at Royal Orchid Central Hotel. Kurt Inderbitzin, a director and producer who has worked with multiple Hollywood production companies, will hold a one-hour class on film direction, followed by a one-hour interactive career workshop.

The film-making workshop is part of ISFM’s tour of India to help students understand how film is taught at an international level, as well as to talk about different career options in the Indian film industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask Inderbitzin questions on how to launch a career in film and media. ‘Celebrating Silence’, an exhibition of paintings by Shama Sondhi, will be held at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat till November 6.

Many strains

Sapthak is holding a musical programme on November 6, 5.30 pm at Havyaka Sabha Bhavan, 8th Main, 11th Cross, Malleswaram. The artistes who will be performing are Subramanya Hegde, Manjunath Bhat, Kalpana Zokarkar, Ravindra Yavgal and Ravindra Katoti.

‘Three Little Stories’

AAKT, an independent theatre troupe based in Bangalore, will be staging the English play ‘Three Little Stories, an ideal, an elegy and silence’, a set of three stories, on November 5, 7 pm. The duration of the play is 70 minutes and the venue is K H Kalasoudha, Hanumanthanagar. This is a set of three sensitive little plays not intertwined to each other by story but connected to each other through the soul of it. Each of these plays lasts for about 25 to 30 minutes.
