KPL M'lore team logo, title to be launched tomorrow

Organisers receive 425 applications from aspirants; 3 to be selected

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he said cricket commentator Charu Sharma will release the logo. The name for the team will also be announed on the occasion.

“We had received more than 500 names for the team from the public. One of the name has been selected and will be announed on the occasion. The names of cricket players who have been selected through bidding for Mangalore team will also be announced on the occasion.”

He said “the process of selecting three local players is under progress. We have received 425 applications so far. Of which, we will select 45 players in the first phase.”

Reality show

Bawa said “the reality show in cricket will be held on August 21, 22 and 23 at NITK maidan in Surathkal.

The selected 45 cricketers will be divided into four teams.
Two matches between these teams will be held between August 21 and 23.
The match will be held from 9 am to 12.30 pm, 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Six matches will be held in three days. The final match will be held on August 23. The selection committee will closely observe all the matches.

Of the 45 members, 14 will be selected. Finally on August 30, there will be a 20-20 match between the team selected through bidding and locally selected team.
After the end of the match, three locals will be selected to the Mangalore team.

KPL team to Mangalore

KPL Mangalore team which was selected through bidding will visit Mangalore on August 30.

These members will be the representatives of Mangalore. A road show from Nehru maidan will be held on the occasion. The road show will pass through main streets and culminate at NITK ground, Surathkal. SMS voting to select the local players will be organised.

The SMS will also be considered while selecting the players, he added.
