Money exchanged in police transfers: Ministers

Last Updated 17 November 2011, 17:56 IST

Sources said after the State Cabinet meeting, a section of ministers raised the transfer issue and complained that a lot of irregularities had taken place in transfer of police personnel. Money had been ‘exchanged’ while transferring the police staff, some ministers alleged, it is said.

When the home minister argued that there was no scope for irregularities, Minister S A Ramdas pointed out that five inspectors belonging to Vokkaliga community had been transferred to Mysore. He also gave his complaint in writing at the meeting, it is said.

Some more ministers complained that money has played a role in transfers, sources said.
Following the arguments between Ashoka and other ministers, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda reportedly told his colleagues that they could bring the list of those police personnel who have been transferred in violation of norms so that he could set right the anomaly, if any.
